1. As a member of the audience of 3 distinct comedic performances, it is evident that a comedian’s style and individuality rule the roost.

2. If laughter can take years off of your life, then I am 18 and loving it!  Brad Williams had this wonderful way of bringing you up on the stage with him wherever you were in the room.

Brad walked on stage, exploding with energy.  He smiled, turned and stopped…waiting for the inevitable applause.  “Everyone knows that life is just better with midgets.”  Laughter exploded and he became that guy you sought for your next party.

Williams’ comedy craft mixes his perspective of personal experiences with everyone’s common problems, luring you to his space on stage.  He is on stage for two reasons:  to hear “ha-ha” or ‘NO, ha-ha.’ Tonight, Williams’ audience (including his proud mother) overflowed with laughter……

That’s a definite ‘ha-ha-ha’!

Arriving at ACES!

This was my first experience at ACES and it far exceeded my expectations! Upon our arrival to ACES Comedy Club we were welcomed into an area that was hustling with activity and audience members excited to see a well known comedian featured in his own DVD and proclaimed the number one Latino comedian! What a treat! We were shown to some of the most comfortable dual recliners ever and made ourselves comfortable rocking to the music heard overhead. Once the show started we found out that ACES was not only a well known comedy club but also a huge advocate for raising money for the local community and its members. This night was a fundraiser for a High School student from Heritage High who was raising money to go compete in the National Finals for speech and debate, awesome! There were two opening acts that seriously left me crying with laughter. Ed Rodriguez and Brian Day found humor in everyday life from those who drive Prius’ to the needy nature of children, oh boy could my husband and I relate! You could tell we weren’t the only ones who could picture what they were saying because the whole house was in hysterics! Time for the main act!

Showtime with Richard Villa!

Richard’s background as a Latino American growing up in the tough neighborhood of Compton provided him a lot of material to use in his show! The huge differences between what he had growing up versus children today was hilarious and so very true! He had the ability to pick out a variety of different people in the audience and in an unobtrusive way he quickly found humor in one of their life experiences thus making the whole audience in a roar of laughter. He too takes it upon himself to serve his community by entertaining the troops overseas and spoke about it at length; it certainly shaped his life and added material to his act. He is certainly not only a very talented comedian being featured on HBO Latino, Comedy Jam and a variety of other appearances, but he is also a humanitarian as he donates his time to those who need humor in a difficult time. He surely made me find humor in the everyday life of disciplining my kids, or the inability to do so in this day and age, and the hilarity of marriage and all its quirks!

Overall experience!

I had a great first experience at ACES Comedy Club! The fabulous opening acts they featured, and Richard Villa left both my husband and I rolling with laughter! It was a great date night in Murrieta and I plan to come back with a few more couples to enjoy the comfort of their club and laugh together with a few more acts. Huge kudos goes out to Richard Villa and Aces Comedy Club, smiles all around!

Aces Comedy Club never disappoints. Non-stop laughs from start to finish. The friendly staff at Aces always makes you feel welcome. Being escorted to your seat, while serving a purpose, also makes you feel a little important… and it makes you hold your breath waiting to see if your going to be sat in the firing line. Once seated there are friendly servers to bring you giant beers, cocktails, or funny food like Bernie Mac bites, Tenacious Double D’s and Rubber Chicken. By the way, unlike many other comedy clubs, Aces has NO drink minimum!!! Not everything is a joke at Aces though; they are also giving back to the community by hosting fundraisers, such as Rocky’s daughters’ efforts to stop human trafficking.

So, now your seated in your decently comfy dining chair, beer in hand and you notice some people in cushy 2-seater recliners, leaning back with their feet up, and suddenly you are on a bed of nails. Those VIP recliners are definitely the way to go here, and believe it or not, they are still cheap. Click on the link to check out tickets.

Show time… Bring out the host. I’ve been to Aces multiple times, and been to numerous other comedy shows, and Rocky remains one of my favorite comedians, he is witty, thinks on his feet and isn’t afraid to take comedic risks. Rocky is one of many reasons I keep going back to Aces. The first comedian of the night was regular, Adam Wass. Self described as looking like the love child of Bret Favre and the Geiko caveman, Adam’s routine was full of funny, his bit about crackhead exercise down at the local rehab gym had my cheeks and ribs aching as I doubled over in laughter. Next up was LG “ghetto booty” Brown. Ok, I added the ghetto booty part, but maybe it’ll stick. This man’s got some serious dance moves… seriously funny dance moves that is. Through energetic physical comedy and sound effects, LG make’s serious fun of himself… and his mishap with shaving his nether-regions.

Onto the Main event… Pete George “The rockstar of comedy”. This was Pete’s second time at Aces, and both his comedic and guitarist skills are amazing. It was like watching stand-up and being at a concert all at once. Pete was funny right out of the gate. He was interactive with the crowd, and could word play like you’ve never seen. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Pete pulled out his guitar and proved that he is more that just a dorky kid from the learning disabilities class. Pete’s parody’s of bands like Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and AC/DC were ingenious. His remake of Tom petty’s Freefalling into Freebasting, and singing Green Day in Kermit the frog’s voice had you rocking out and cracking up all at the same time. He took every opportunity to get the crowd involved, including a few sing-alongs.

After the show all of the night’s comedians are readily available for the crowd to mingle with and take photos, they make you feel like part of the family. It’s always a good time at Aces.

Beginning April 7^th Aces Comedy Club’s very own Rocky Osborn will be hosting a comedy class that will give you the basic tools to help you hone in your comedy talent.  For 6 weeks Rocky and other comedians will be teaching you techniques on developing a stand-up comedy routine, microphone skills, stage presence, crowd control and interaction and most of all ensuring you will make the audience Laugh Their Ace Off!!

At the end of this course you will have an opportunity to perform on stage in front of a live audience at one of our open mic nights at Aces Comedy Club.
